We all know that we are facing a pandemic of Covid 19. Before this majority of us don't know about quarantine, isolation, lock-down,containment zone, social distancing etc.

Let's start from the starting of 2020 a new year, the time of new year resolutions, when people make a decision of adapting or leaving any habit and of course the starting of a new decade. So we all were excited about this year and many plans were made among ourselves or among friends, families etc.

But....but..but, the most unexpected thing happened this year, which i don't need to mention. So, spending more than 5 months in home, i want to ask some people who used to tell that why don't we get long vacations, "kyu bhai mazey aa gye".

From enjoying to suffering

During our childhood, we all used to dream, why don't we get more holidays. If we can go whole year school, why can't we stay whole year home. So, the fever of holidays have been cured from all of us.

At the starting time of lock down everything was enjoyable and interesting to do because it was a new experience for us. But slowly time passed, and everyone got bored and irritated from their daily activities.

 The new normal

In this pandemic we all are adapting very new things which will definitely be a part of our routine for long time. From writing notes from blackboard, to downloading notes through whatsapp. From going school and sitting with friends while attending classes, to sitting alone at home and attending online classes. From sharing lunch in school, to eating alone at home. From writing exam and discussing answer with friends, to sending photo to teacher and  discussing in phone. From sir/mam i have not understood, to sir/mam your voice is not clear. We have came a long way.

This lifestyle is very new for us, and we have not fully adapted everything from the new normal.

Problems to discuss

There are many problems or issued faced by students all over the country specially related to health, both physical health and mental health.

Physical health- In this lock down period, everyone were at home and there was negligible physical activity. It is not good for one's health and especially for those who are at their adolescent age. Then, doing nothing gives rise to laziness, and laziness stops us from doing productive work, which later becomes procrastination and a lazy cycle is built.

Mental health -  It is the most important issue for students in this time period. As everyone is at home and there is very less face to face interaction with people, and the tension or fear of career, exams etc. These all give rise of anxiety, loneliness, depression, and the worst thing is, if one can't handle this mental pressure then act like suicide is done at the end.

How to handle it

So, the thing is both body and mind are same. If you have a healthy body, then your mind will work smoothly and vice versa. For, physical fitness, i don't want to give any tips, as you already know what one can do to be fit, the problem is you want to be fit but not want to face the pain due to which you make excuses and procrastinate. I just want to tell, you don't need to do any big workout, just  maintain your daily routine and take  care of sleep cycle, then automatically you will become physically active.

Then for  mental health, i just want to say, stay away from news channels, and start doing activities which you like or in which you have interest. If you don't feel good, then talk to your best friend or any special friend, for some relaxation. And reduce screen time, means decrease time in watching T.V., phone, PC etc, so that there will be less strain in eyes and utilize that time in doing productive work.
Just keep your focus clear, start doing what you like and what makes you happy. The future is decided by your actions which is done today. So, learn from past, observe the present and write the future.

          "  Believe in yourself   "

Fight is on.

At the end, i just want to say corona has not ended yet, daily cases are increasing. So, just think about doctors who are doing hard work day and night to save life. Think about social  workers, who are working daily, for helping others. And many corona warriors, who have kept their lives in risk just for helping us.

So, what can we do is to stay at home and follow all guidelines and health advisories given by government, and take care of family members.
